3) The representation of the saint laying flat or curled up on the ground is the rarest of all the supine positions. This position is seen in the works of the artists: Nicholas Regnier (1615+) and (1624) (See: Figures 79 & 99); Pietro Rotari, (1725) (See: Figure 91); a master from the School of Nicholas Regnier (1600+) (See: Figure 84); Bartolomeo Schedoni (1614) (See: Figure 100); and Marcantonio Bassetti (1620) (See: Figure 101) has him laying on the ground with knees drawn up slightly, and a drape obscuring the genitals.
